Abednego is the Babylonian name given in the Book of Daniel to Azariah, one of the three Jewish youths cast into a fiery furnace and miraculously preserved. The name is traditionally interpreted as “servant of Nego” or Nebo, a Babylonian deity. Ghanaian boxer Abednego Tetteh is a modern bearer.
