Aline is a medieval short form of Adeline, and in modern English usage it has sometimes been regarded as a variant of Eileen. It was also the title of a popular 1965 song by the French singer Christophe.
Aline moved from #867 to #975 for girls between 1952 and 1953. Its highest annual birth count came in 1920, with 445 births.
