Meaning and history
Probably meaning “silver wheel” from Welsh arian “silver” and rhod “wheel,” Arianrhod appears in the Fourth Branch of the Mabinogi as the mother of the twins Dylan and Lleu Llaw Gyffes, whom she gave birth to after stepping over a magical wand. She has also been speculated to have been a moon goddess in earlier myths.
