Arkadios

Arkadios is an ancient Greek masculine name meaning “from Arcadia,” the mountainous region of the Peloponnese. Arcadia became an idealized pastoral landscape in Greek and later European literature, symbolizing unspoiled rural harmony. The Latin form Arcadius was borne by a late fourth-century Eastern Roman emperor and several saints. Arkadios preserves the Greek form.
