Meaning and history
Bianca is the Italian cognate of Blanche. Shakespeare used the name for characters in The Taming of the Shrew (1593) and Othello (1603), and Freddy Breck’s 1973 song Bianca helped increase its popularity elsewhere in Europe.
Bianca moved from #462 to #500 for girls between 2024 and 2025. Its highest annual birth count came in 1991, with 3,844 births.
