Cassiopeia is the Latinized form of Greek Κασσιόπεια (Kassiopeia) or Κασσιέπεια (Kassiepeia), possibly meaning “cassia juice.” In Greek mythology, Cassiopeia was the wife of Cepheus and the mother of Andromeda, and after her death she was transformed into a constellation placed in the northern sky.
