Chinatsu is a Japanese feminine name whose meaning depends on the kanji used. A common spelling is 千夏, combining “thousand” with “summer,” but other combinations, such as 知夏 using “knowledge” and “summer,” are possible. The romanized form therefore has no single fixed translation without the original characters. Notable bearers include Japanese voice actor Chinatsu Akasaki and badminton player Chinatsu Shida.
