Meaning and history
Colette is a short form of Nicolette. It was borne by Saint Colette, a 15th-century French nun who gave her money to the poor, and was also the pen name of the French author Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette (1873–1954).
Colette rose from #401 to #316 for girls between 2024 and 2025. That year also produced its highest recorded birth count, at 962.
