Meaning and history
Eartha is a name formed from the English word earth combined with the feminine suffix a. It has been used in honor of African-American philanthropist Eartha M. M. White (1876–1974), and another well-known bearer was the American singer and actress Eartha Kitt (1927–2008).
Eartha rose from #957 to #950 for girls between 1945 and 1955. That year also produced its highest recorded birth count, at 108.
