Eir

Eir is an Old Norse feminine name associated with a word meaning “help,” “mercy,” or “protection.” In Norse myth, Eir is named among the goddesses in the Prose Edda and is described as an exceptionally skilled physician. A figure of the same name also appears among healing maidens in the poem Fjölsvinnsmál.
