Estefanía is the Spanish feminine form of Stephen, from Greek Stephanos, meaning “crown” or “garland.” The name spread through Christian Europe through devotion to Saint Stephen, the first Christian martyr. Spanish infanta Estefanía of Navarre and actress Estefanía de los Santos are notable bearers.
