Eurydice is a name of Greek origin, from Εὐρυδίκη (Eurydike), meaning “wide justice,” formed from εὐρύς (eurys), “wide,” and δίκη (dike), “justice, custom, order.” In Greek mythology, Eurydice was the wife of Orpheus, who tried to bring her back from Hades but failed when he looked back at her despite the condition that he not do so on the way out.
