Meaning and history
Flavie is the French feminine form of Flavius, an ancient Roman family name derived from Latin flavus, meaning “yellow,” “golden,” or “fair-haired.” The Flavian dynasty included the emperors Vespasian, Titus, and Domitian, giving the name a strong Roman historical association. Early saints later preserved feminine forms in Christian use. Notable bearers include French television and radio presenter Flavie Flament and French actor Flavie Péan.
