Meaning and history
Gormlaith is derived from Old Irish gorm, meaning “blue” or “illustrious,” and flaith, meaning “ruler,” “sovereign,” or “princess.” It was borne by several medieval Irish royals, including the wife of the 11th-century king Brian Boru.
