Gwyneth

Probably a variant of Gwynedd, this name has been common in Wales since the 19th century, perhaps influenced by the Welsh novelist Gwyneth Vaughan (1852–1910), whose real name was Ann Harriet Hughes. A modern well-known bearer is the American actress Gwyneth Paltrow (1972–).

Gwyneth rose from #970 to #892 for girls between 2011 and 2013. That year also produced its highest recorded birth count, at 288.
