Hillary is a variant of Hilary. Notable bearers include Edmund Hillary (1919–2008), the first man to climb Mount Everest, and the American politician Hillary Rodham Clinton (1947–). The name declined in popularity in 1993, after she became first lady as the wife of Bill Clinton.
