Meaning and history
Hye-jin is a Korean given name, usually feminine, written 혜진 in Hangul. Its meaning depends on the hanja chosen. Common combinations use 惠 or 慧 for hye, conveying “favour” or “wisdom,” with 珍 or 眞 for jin, meaning “precious” or “true,” but many other authorized characters are possible. It therefore has no fixed translation without the original hanja. Notable bearers include South Korean actor Han Hye-jin and singer Ahn Hye-jin, known professionally as Hwasa.
