Jace is a short form of Jason that is sometimes used on its own. It came to limited attention in the United States through the lead character in the western television series Tales of the Texas Rangers (1955–1958), and by the end of the 20th century it had begun rising steadily in popularity, reaching 66th place for boys in the United States in 2013.
