Meaning and history
Jing is used in Chinese given names for more than one gender, and its meaning depends on the written character. Common choices include 静 or 靜, “quiet” or “calm”; 晶, “crystal” or “bright”; 京, “capital”; and 景, “scenery” or “radiance,” among many others. The same romanization can therefore represent unrelated meanings and tones. Notable bearers include Chinese actor Jing Tian and Chinese-British actor Jing Lusi; their written characters determine the intended meanings.
In 2024, 6 babies were recorded with the name Jing, ranking #10,938 among boys.
