Josué is the French, Spanish, and Portuguese form of Joshua, from Hebrew Yehoshua, meaning “the Lord is salvation.” In the Hebrew Bible, Joshua succeeds Moses and leads the Israelites into Canaan. French footballer Josué Homawoo and Brazilian player Josué Anunciado de Oliveira are notable bearers.
