Kali has distinct uses. In Hindu tradition, Kālī means "the black one" and is a powerful goddess associated with time, destruction and transformation; in English, Kali can also be a modern spelling of Callie. The goddess is one of Hinduism's major divine figures. Notable bearers of the modern given name include actress Kali Rocha and musician Kali Uchis.
