Meaning and history
Katida is a rare modern feminine name whose linguistic origin is not securely documented. It may be an elaboration of Kat, Katie, or names from the Katherine family, but it can also arise independently in different language communities. Katherine itself comes from Greek Aikaterine, of uncertain meaning despite a traditional association with “pure.” Without evidence from an individual bearer’s language and family history, claims that Katida has one ancient or culturally specific translation should be treated as speculative.
