Keshia is an African American feminine name, usually treated as a spelling variant of Keisha. Keisha arose in the United States during the twentieth century; it may have been newly created or influenced by the biblical name Keziah, but its derivation is not certain. Keziah itself means “cassia” in Hebrew. Keshia should therefore not automatically be assigned that meaning. Notable bearers include American actor Keshia Knight Pulliam and Canadian singer Keshia Chanté.
