Kiana is the Hawaiian form of Diana, a Latin name associated with the Roman goddess of the moon, hunting and nature. It gained wider American attention in the late twentieth century through Hawaiian fitness instructor and television host Kiana Tom. The spelling is also used independently in modern African American naming. Another notable bearer is basketball player Kiana Williams.
