Meaning and history
Kristeen is a modern English spelling variant of Christine or Kristen. Both derive from Greek Christianos, meaning “a Christian” or “follower of Christ,” through the feminine name Christina. The double e reflects phonetic styling rather than a separate etymology. A notable bearer is American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Kristeen Young. The name should not be confused with unrelated names beginning with Kris in languages where the spelling may represent a different source.
