Meaning and history
Lalita is a Sanskrit name meaning “playful,” “charming,” or “desirable.” In the Puranas, it was the name of one of the gopis, the milkmaids devoted to the young Krishna, and in Shaktism it is also the name of a goddess known as Tripura Sundari.
