Meaning and history
Lisanne is a Dutch feminine name formed by combining Lisa and Anne. Lisa is traditionally a short form of Elisabeth, from Hebrew Elisheva, usually interpreted as “my God is an oath.” Anne comes from Hebrew Ḥannah, meaning “favour” or “grace.” The compound therefore joins two established biblical name families rather than possessing one ancient root. Notable bearers include Dutch volleyball player Lisanne van de Klift and Dutch racing cyclist Lisanne Soemanta.
