Malina has distinct roots in several cultures. In a number of Slavic languages the word malina means “raspberry,” while in Inuit tradition Malina is the name given to a solar figure in a story about the sun and moon. Notable bearers include Polish actress Malina Weissman and Bulgarian singer Malina Stancheva.
