Meaning and history
Min-ji is a Korean given name, usually feminine, written 민지 in Hangul. Its meaning depends on the hanja selected. A common spelling uses 敏, meaning “quick,” “clever,” or “sharp,” with 智, “wisdom” or “intellect”; another uses 知, “to know” or “understand,” and many other authorized combinations are possible. It therefore has no single fixed translation without the original characters. Notable bearers include South Korean actress Seo Min-ji and NewJeans singer Kim Min-ji, known professionally as Minji.
