Morven is a Scottish feminine name transferred from Morvern, a district in the western Highlands. The Gaelic place name is usually written A’ Mhorbhairne, but its deeper etymology is uncertain. James Macpherson also used Morven as a poetic landscape in his Ossian works, strengthening its literary association with the Highlands.
