Meaning and history
Nastya is a Russian and Ukrainian affectionate form of Anastasia. Anastasia is the feminine form of Greek Anastasios, derived from anastasis, meaning “resurrection.” The name gained Christian significance through several early saints, especially Saint Anastasia of Sirmium, and became prominent in Eastern Orthodox cultures. Nastya is normally informal, though it may appear publicly as a chosen name. Notable bearers include Ukrainian singer Nastya Kamenskykh, known as NK, and Russian-American YouTube creator Anastasia Radzinskaya, widely known as Like Nastya.
