Nuka is a Greenlandic Inuit given name and kinship word meaning “younger sibling,” especially a younger brother or sister. It can be used for more than one gender and belongs to Greenlandic naming tradition. Similar-looking names elsewhere may have unrelated origins, so this meaning should not automatically be applied outside that context. Nuka also appears as an element in longer Greenlandic names, including Nukaaka. Reliable internationally prominent bearers using exactly the short form Nuka are limited.
