Oisín is an Irish name meaning "little deer." In Irish mythology he is the son of the warrior Fionn mac Cumhaill and the poet of the Fianna, as well as the hero of the tale of Tír na nÓg. Notable modern bearers include Gaelic footballer Oisín McConville and rugby player Oisín Dowling.
