Meaning and history
French form of the Roman name Quintinus, Quentin was borne by a 3rd-century saint and missionary martyred in Gaul. The Normans introduced the name to England, and in America it became widely known through Quentin Roosevelt (1897–1918), the son of President Theodore Roosevelt, who was killed in World War I. Another notable bearer is the American film director Quentin Tarantino (1963–).
