Meaning and history
Quintella is a rare feminine elaboration of Quinta or Quintus. These Roman names derive from Latin quintus, meaning “fifth,” and were traditionally associated with a fifth child or the fifth month in the older Roman calendar. The suffix -ella gives the form a later diminutive quality. Because documentation is limited, it should not be assigned unrelated meanings such as “queen.” Reliable historical and modern bearers of the exact form are scarce.
