Meaning and history
Shevaun is an Anglicized phonetic spelling of the Irish feminine name Siobhán. Siobhán is the Irish form of Norman French Jehanne, related to Jane and ultimately to Hebrew Yehochanan, meaning “Yahweh is gracious.” The spelling Shevaun approximates the Irish pronunciation for English readers but does not represent a different origin.
