Meaning and history
Tallulah is the name of waterfalls in Georgia. It is popularly said to mean “leaping waters” in Choctaw, though it may instead mean “town” in Creek. The name was borne by American actress Tallulah Bankhead (1902–1968), who was named after her grandmother, who may herself have been named after the waterfalls.
Tallulah moved from #815 to #940 for girls between 2024 and 2025. Its highest annual birth count came in 2023, with 345 births.
