Thalia is a name derived from the Greek Θάλεια (Thaleia), from θάλλω (thallo), meaning “to blossom.” In Greek mythology, Thalia was one of the nine Muses, associated with comedy and pastoral poetry, and the name was also borne by one of the three Graces, or Χάριτες (Charites).
