Urien

Urien is an ancient Brittonic and Welsh masculine name of uncertain meaning. Urien of Rheged was a sixth-century king in northern Britain celebrated in early Welsh poetry, particularly works attributed to Taliesin. Later Arthurian literature recast him as King Urien, husband of Morgan le Fay and father of Owain or Ywain. The name therefore has both historical and legendary significance. A notable modern bearer was Welsh novelist and playwright Urien Wiliam.
