Meaning and history
The name means “easy, wealthy” in Arabic and comes from the root يسر (yasira), meaning “to be easy” or “to be rich.” It was the name of an early Islamic martyr and was also borne by Yasir Arafat (1929–2004), a leader of the Palestine Liberation Organization.
