Dáire is an Irish name traditionally associated with the meaning “fruitful” or “fertile,” and it was borne by several figures in early Irish legend. Among them is Dáire mac Fiachna, owner of the Brown Bull of Cooley in the epic Táin Bó Cúailnge. The name is now used mainly for boys but can also be unisex.
