Meaning and history
Donato is derived from the Latin name Donatus, meaning “given.” It was used by several early saints and later borne by two Renaissance masters: the sculptor Donato di Niccolo di Bette Bardi, known as Donatello, and the architect Donato Bramante.
Donato moved from #918 to #992 for boys between 1926 and 1927. Its highest annual birth count came in 1926, with 54 births.
