Elektra

Elektra is the modern Greek form of Electra, an ancient Greek feminine name commonly connected with ēlektron, “amber,” and by extension something shining or radiant. In Greek mythology, Electra is the daughter of Agamemnon and Clytemnestra who helps her brother Orestes avenge their father’s murder. Her story inspired tragedies by Aeschylus, Sophocles, and Euripides. A notable modern bearer is Elektra Kilbey, an Australian-Swedish musician and member of the duo Say Lou Lou.
