Meaning and history
Jude is an English form of Judas and ultimately shares the Hebrew root of Judah, usually associated with praise. English Bible translations use Jude for one of the apostles to distinguish him from Judas Iscariot, and the name has been used since the Protestant Reformation. Notable bearers include actor Jude Law and footballer Jude Bellingham.
Jude rose from #156 to #155 for boys between 2024 and 2025. Its highest annual birth count came in 2015, with 2,668 births.
