Lorena is a Spanish, Portuguese and Italian form of Lorraine, originally a place name for the region in northeastern France. Its American use was boosted by the nineteenth-century song Lorena, written by Henry D. L. Webster and Joseph Philbrick Webster. Notable bearers include Mexican actress Lorena Rojas and Spanish athlete Lorena Guréndez.
