Milica is a South Slavic feminine name derived from the Slavic element mil, meaning “gracious,” “dear,” or “kind,” with a diminutive suffix. It has been borne by medieval Serbian royalty, notably Princess Milica, wife of Prince Lazar, who later became a nun and saint. The name therefore combines affectionate meaning with Serbian historical and Orthodox significance. Notable modern bearers include Serbian basketball player Milica Dabović and actor Milica Gojković.
