Meaning and history
Nika is used in several cultures. In Slavic languages it often shortens names such as Veronika and Nikita, while in Georgian it is a masculine form related to Nicholas; some uses also connect with the Greek nike, meaning “victory.” Croatian basketball player Nika Mühl and Slovenian singer Nika Zorjan are notable bearers.
