Meaning and history
Roni is used for both sexes and has several sources. In Hebrew it can mean “my joy” or serve as a short form of names such as Aharon, while elsewhere it often shortens Veronica or Ronald. Israeli singer Roni Dalumi and Finnish footballer Roni Peiponen are notable bearers.
Roni moved from #666 to #932 for girls between 1967 and 1968. Its highest annual birth count came in 1955, with 295 births.
