Lia has several uses: it is the Italian, Portuguese, Catalan, Georgian and Greek form of the biblical name Leah, and in parts of Europe it also serves as a short form of names ending in -lia, such as Rosalia and Natalia. Its history therefore combines biblical tradition with later abbreviated forms. Notable bearers include British actress Lia Williams and South Korean singer Lia of the group Itzy.
