Meaning and history
Tiana is a short form of Tatiana or Christiana. Rare in the United States until it rose in popularity in 1975, it may have been influenced by Vietnamese-American actress Tiana Alexandra (1956–), who was briefly known at the time. The name was later used for the princess in Disney’s The Princess and the Frog (2009).
Tiana rose from #611 to #598 for girls between 2024 and 2025. Its highest annual birth count came in 1998, with 1,028 births.
